Teething Necklace, Sophie the Giraffe, Baby Teethers, Remedy Reviews

My son has the worst teething of all three children. I have tried several teething remedies. Today I thought I review items that I found to at least provide some temporary relief!

Sophie the Giraffe

First, I want to talk about Sophie the Giraffe. I previously reviewed Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether with my daughter. To summarize, my dog Harley loves Sophie more than my daughter. I initially reviewed Sophie a couple of years ago and complained that it was nothing but a dog chew toy. My daughter threw Sophie repeatedly and my dog swept poor Sophie off the floor and has been in love ever since. Yes, my dog sleeps with Sophie every night!

Now, I would like to tell you about how my son likes Sophie. I noticed our third child kept trying to steal Sophie from the dog. Of course, we couldn’t let the baby even touch that toy now due to the slobber and gross germs on that teething toy. So, I purchased the original Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether and Vulli Sophie Giraffe Vanilla Teether. My son LOVES both! He chews on Sophie’s feet all the time. His reaction to Sophie the Giraffe has been completely different than my daughter. According to Amazon reviews, apparently my daughter was in the minority because Sophie is the TOP baby teething toy on Amazon.

Teething Necklace or Breastfeeding Necklace and Bracelet

The reason I really like this next product, Chewbeads Necklace – Jane Necklace is so my son can play with it while I am breastfeeding. Even bottle feeding mamas could use this while feeding. Why? Because as your baby gets older, he or she seems to get more distracted because your baby wants to be on the move! If you wear this necklace while feeding, your baby can play with the necklace while eating.

This is also the top teething necklace on Amazon besides the Amber teething necklace (which babies don’t actually chew). The most significant complaint about the Chewbeads necklace is that moms said their own hair got trapped in the beads when baby pulled the necklace. I did not read any complaints about the necklace breaking.

Besides the necklace, there is also the teething bracelet if you prefer to wear one on your hand.

Gum Massagers

Teethers that have gum massagers on them will keep a baby’s attention longer than normal teething rings (at least from my experience, but all babies are different!). The Zo-li Gummy Stick Baby Gum Massagers are great for the baby to use to rub their own gums! I have one VERY similar to this one, but I can’t find it online.

Cold Teethers

We have a variety of these type teethers: Razbaby Raz-Berry silicone Teethers Double Pack Both Colors in One Package. These are great! Any teething ring you can put in the free

Teething Tablets

Hyland’s Teething Tablets: I did not try these with my first two children because of the rumors I heard about them and the fact they have belladonna in them. However, my doctor recommended them and according to Snopes.com, they seem to be safe. My child seems to get a little relief from them.

What are some things you have tried that worked with your child?
